My pastor preached an interesting sermon Sunday night. Being Christmas Sunday, I automatically turned to the New Testament for the scripture. I was surprised when he announced the scripture from Psalm 23:2. Yes, the psalm talks about sheep so I thought the nativity shepherds would be his focus. Wrong again. He started talking about lying down in green pastures and the still waters. Then he brought out about the peacefulness of the scene described. He then went on to talk about other types of peace that comes from above mentioned in the Bible. Then, at the end of the sermon he climaxed his message with Jesus being the Prince of Peace. What a promise! When you think of the little baby in the manger being the Prince of Peace, no wonder the wise men fell and worshiped. The Prince of Peace for the world. Better yet, he is my Prince of Peace. When I am struggling with daily stresses, He is my Prince of Peace. When things are out of the reach of my doing anything about them besides praying, He is my Prince of Peace. When I don't understand, when I am tempted to be afraid, worried, or in distress, He is my Prince of Peace.
"For unto us a child is born...Prince of Peace."

Thank you for.......
Sunday night, ready to start the week after Sunday rest and worship. This being the Sunday before Thanksgiving I'm sure many folks heard messages in church about being thankful. Believe me I'm and thankful for all that I am blessed with. Home, husband and three amazing children all with multiple talents are just the tip of the iceberg of my blessings.
My pastor (husband) gave us a nugget in his Sunday night message. Yes, we are to be thankful for all the blessings we have and all the things that are done for us but we should also be aware of where these things come form. Without a Blesser we would not have what we are blessed with. . .material things, health, family. So let me go on record to say that I am thankful for the Blesser. All of our faith and trust can rest in the God of the universe. "We've got a great big wonderful God," seems like a small way to say all he is and does. Jesus set the example for us to teach us how to live and enjoy the blessings of life. But better yet, we can have a personal relationship with Him, the Blesser, all the time. It is good to have the blessings but as for me, I am enjoying the Blesser.

Log Man
A long time ago I saw a skit about Log Man. The skit protrayed a supper hero "Log Man" taking care of everyone's problems while at the same time not being able to see his own. He tried to remove the splinter from other peoples eyes while not being aware of the log in his own eye.
I think of Log Man often, and too often I see that I am he.
I wish there were some way of knowing if Log Man would ever be "cured" of his problem. Like....maybe there was a secret formula that would fill his heart with love for his fellow man so that, in love, with words of kindness or simple a listening ear he would be able to "save" the person in distress and solve the problem.
Maybe if the skit would have continued and "Log Man" was given a special super human dose, shot or measure of that secret formula he could have "saved the day".
When you think about it I think the solution is love. Yes, the special super human dose that would save Log Man in his dilemma is a supper dose of the love of God. After all, the number 1 and 2 commendments from our Lord gives us the horizontal and vertical for that love.
My prayer........give me a Super human dose of love.
